In September 1999, Craig joined The Fresh Market, a family-owned, privately-held food retailer headquartered in Greensboro with 25 stores in six southeastern states. From 1999 through 2015, he worked with the founding family and others in management to transition the company from a successful, entrepreneurial enterprise into a publicly-traded, high growth, national specialty retailer. While at The Fresh Market, Craig held several positions in Marketing and Operations, including Director of Marketing Strategy, Vice-President of Marketing, Senior Vice-President of Operations, and Chief Operating Officer.
